NAT TYPE!!!

Currently my NAT type is Strict but i fixed it if anyone has this problem i can teach you how to fix it also i can now party up with you guys XD yays

well r4s way worked but i know a different way say you can host on all game

mines open and i think thats how it should stay

yea my way works but u hav to do it everytime you want to play a game

iv been trying port forwarding but its not working. does anyone know what to do or kno anyone who knows??

i went to PortForward.com and followed instructions but i cant get it to work

actually i can open the ports BUT they close again after like 30secs

ok i forwarded my ports and now my NAT type is moderate

wow we posted at the same time epic!!!
and it just meant that matchmaking would be slower but it should be better now that my NAT type is better

Mine is open on MW2, but strict on BO! WTF do I do Bean?

you go to start on your computer then type in the search box cmd then press the thing that comes up now that your in the cmd box type ipconfig once you find out that your default gateway go to your internet explorer type in the default gateway to get you to your modem home page then in another tab type in portforward.com in google click the top one then on that page it says router list on the top half on the page on the left click it then go back to your modems home page and it should say your modems name up the top of the page otherwise have a little look then once you have found it go back to portforward.com and press the router or modem that yours is called(it has every single model) after you press that it should bring you to a page that says buy a thing to get it to do it for you. you can do that if you wonna spend money otherwise press skip this ad then brings you to every game and app pretty much ever even single player games are listed so find the once that says PS3 CALL OF DUTY BLACKOPS then press it. from there follow the steps because i don't know your router of modem type sorry

P.S FOLLOW THE STEPS PERFECTLY DOWNLOAD SOME OF THE THINGS LIKE THE THING THAT MAKES YOU HAVE A STACTIC IP ADDRESS

WOW! thanks heaps for writing all that out for me Bean!
All of that has bean done in the past to get MW2 working. I rang playstation help line and they took me through it step by step on the phone, and just gave me the codes without having to go too different websites.
Well it seems to be fixed now, as I put the MW2 disc in to see if it was still open [it was] and then went back to BO and, bugger me, its back to open too.
It all reminds me of a joke.
A accountant, engineer, and a computer programer were gunna take a trip in a car.
However the car wouldn't start.
So the accountant says 'we need to spend money and buy some petrol'.
The engineer says 'we need to re-build the carby'.
So the computer programmer says ' I know, everyone get back out of the car, and then get back in'

Thanks 4 that for some reason mine is coming up strict so im going to ring up playstation when i rang up my ISP they gave me an asain and she didnt even know what NAT or port forwarding is so she transfered me to an aussie (thank god) but it would cost 100$! to get help so i hung up when he mentioned it also ring up the number that says your new ( you get right to some1) ill ring playstation tomorrow (monday) hopfuly they can help

Do the internet connection test on the PS3 first. If it shows type 2 you're OK
Loading MW2 up properly and checking the nat type seems to change mine on BO.
also try resetting the modem by switching the power off and waiting 20 secs b4 turning it back on

lol once again it was me that told bean(reaper) how to do it lol
but yea port forwarding doesnt seem to work for long as it goes back to strict.
but my NAT type is 2 on connection settings and now my NAT type on MW2 is moderate wen it was open.
i hav no idea wtf is happening with the NAT types but it is annoying

OK this is what has bean working for me.
I re boot the modem
I start the ps3 and check on bo the nat type.
If its strict, I then eject the disc [let game close itself ] and insert MW2
I let it load fully and leave it on the nat type page for a minute, then eject the disc.
The I put BO back in and I have open nat type.
I don't know why this works 4 me, it just does!
